As the second test match petered out into a draw and the HeadiesShreddies limped to an incredibly lame defeat, my mind wanders and wonders why i spend an ample portion of the prime of my life watching, playing, reading and conversing about this strange little game of leather and willow. Cast your minds back to January of last year. Lives have been turned upside down in this time, but much remains the same. My longing to witness glorious moments like this when 5 days of heated competition is decided in a fleeting instant as a man plays down the wrong line and the dreams of one nation are shattered, while the dreams of another are realized as the ball is held above the hallowed blades of turf that make up the SCG. The acrimonious climax to the game that made Clarkey a hero and had the Indians threatening to go home. Out of control.
