Boogying can still be rad

Bodyboarding is such a weird sport because it so frigging subjective. As a result a bunch of dudes that have undoubtable talent in the water spend a bunch of time fighting like sea gulls of shots, writing off each others techniques and personalities or building up some ridiculous faux personality in the attempt to be considered edgy and rad. I have been called cynical for my take on the workings of this subculture (by Ryan Mattic) but it seems to me that the constant attempts to build up the cultural capital that can be traded for wealth, prosperity, babes and social status often gets in the way of how dam fun/rad/beautiful it can be to watch some one truly shredding their teets off away from all that bullshit. However even though my hours spent in the water have been greatly diminished this year, little vids like this still have the ability to inspire me to get out there with nothing but a benevolent agenda in my heart.
