The man of many talents (he works a mean till at a surfstore whilst reading the thesaurus) has been inundated with groms from around the south coast repping his new ZION range. Apart from shooting waves for his latest movie "Fever Dream", Ryan has recently been employed by the neo wordsmith of 2009, Riptide Magazines own Tim Leeson.
Ryans duties for the magazine require him to name drop as many well respected poets, musicians and authors into one caption in the "shooting gallery" section of the magazine. Pretty crazy stuff.
But his main priority for the mag is to write the introduction of the magazine. Now this is no easy task my friends. While it may seem simple to write a few lines of words that make you motivated and excited, it certainly is not. It takes many hard hours of internet trawling, ice cream eating (which as you may or may not be aware, time actually stands still when your eating ice cream) and dictionary studying to complete this task.
Apart from those ventures, Ryan has also recently been picked up by publishing giant Penguin Books to get his new Novella "Wordsmith- An introductory piece for the aspiring writer" out into stores very soon. It will contain interviews and quotes from well renowned wordchiefs such as Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, T.S. Eliot, Declan McMullen, Sharni Ferris, Jamie Francesca Paige Davidson, Rachel Ingham, Tim Leeson and Ryan himself. I recommend this book to anyone out there as a hardcover copy of the book will look great in your lap whilst your reclining in the sun over a latte, on the train to work or even next to a bottle of Vino if your name is Ian Osterloh.
So folks it is time for me to sign off. But as I go I will leave you with one of Ryans favourite quotes by Wilfred Owen....." I was a boy when I first realised the fullest life liveable was a Poets".
