With the old westerly blowing my mind drifts back to winters past. Nostalgia at the changing of a season is a pretty normal occurrence, as your senses trigger memories of a not too distant youth. For some reason these sensations have compelled me to acquaint you guys with a little known band i love called the common code. I'm sure we all have similar types of bands in our lives. This little four piece from Newcastle were just a bunch of dudes singing about babes and their home town, yet for some reason their songs were of great resonance to me. One particular song, TSGTHABL, was a particular favourite of mine. Alas, i will never forget the day they took it down off their myspace, and despite countless hours scouring the Internet and emails asking if i could somehow acquire a copy, the lovely melody has not pleased my ears since.
Now they have grown their hair, grown up, split up and formed new bands that are taking the Sydney indie scene by storm. But i don't care. What i wouldn't give to hear TSGTHBL one last time...
