Arguing With Koots

Today Koots made the bogus claim (Koots signature move) that The Endless Summer was some kind of Hollywood drama where hired actors played out scenes on LA beaches and the surf scenes were taken at places like the North Shore then just shralped in to fit the story line. Not juance Koots. While this was the catalyst for a typically entertaining argument with Koots, with Adam John Joel Windgrave Green and I acting as the antagonists, it also got me thinking back to how glorious it must have been shralping all over the globe looking for rad little long boarding set ups.

Even more startling is the fact that they fanged around Africa and found rad waves. Frigging AFRICA. Think about how crazy this would have been back in the 60's when heaps of those fellas would not have even laid their eyes on a white dude before. Even now you could look at a world map and compare the length of the coast of Western Africa with, say, the South Coast of NSW and it is undeniable that their must be a plethora of bullshit waves hidden all over the shop. We have already seen that crazy left in Namibia, and neighbours the most Westernised country in the region, South Africa. So imagine getting involved in searching for waves in places like the Ivory Coast, or Nigeria, or some shit. You would have to be a massive hellman. This makes what these dudes achieved all the more amazing.

Imagine just ducking down in these bullshit curls with a few mates.
