Is Phil Hughes Related to Merv?

As the Toss is about to take place between the respective captains of Australia and Pakistan i was all set to smash out another inspiring, yet somewhat predictable piece encapsulating another famous SCG moment. However as news filtered down of a change in the Australian line up my line of blogging changed as quickly as a Warnie Leggie on a final day SCG wicket. Local hellman Phil Hughes has earnt a reprieve to the line up and his inclusion has created some added interest to this test match as he is playing his first game at his home ground. Back in the day when i used to fang around the caravan parks of Scott's Head the local fellas and I used to delight in playing impromptu games of cricket at any opportunity. Throughout these glorious times these small town dudes took any chance they could to inform me that their mate from school was a massive rippo and would play for Australia one day. I took it as a typical small town, local hellman status that would see him eventually playing a few years of grade cricket or something. Little did i know their mate was Phil Hughes. Now I am massively pumped to check this match out as his attacking brand of cricket and his skill out side the off stump (which makes him the antithesis of James Dixon), along with his return to the team at the fabled SCG and the lingering doubts that would be clouding his mind as a result of his failure against the new ball in England make for a glorious cocktail of circumstance, possibility and emotion. I can only imagine how my little mates from Scott's Head must be feeling.
