The Luck of the Irish

Patches O'Hoollahan must be the Irish cricket coach, after they caused one of most ridiculous upsets in cricket history last night. In their World Cup pool match England were expected to shralp their way to a victory as certain as James Dixon getting involved in the Illawarra tonight.

At the commencement of this game I was hanging down the pub with self proclaimed Irish hellman James "Kooted up Koot Face" Cayley and was lucky enough to get his valuable insight into the history of Irish cricket and the politics behind the division between Northern Ireland and the rest of the country.  Koots insisted that cricket was an upper class sport, full of Irish wankers who used this apotheosis of colonial sport as their sea crow way to pretend to be English. He decided that while this may have been the case, he still wanted Ireland to go to town some English teet and pull off a famous victory. We both agreed it was unlikely, watched a couple of overs of steady England scoring, after they had won the toss and elected to bat, and bailed home.

What a mistake it turned out to be as the land of Koots and my own fore fathers went absolutely skits, pulling off the most glorious victory in the history of the sport in their country. After posting 327 England looked assured of victory. However, like a recalcitrant school child, Ireland defied Englands heralded, attack who recently fucked Australia up in the Ashes series, to win the game. They were knocking back records like a few Guiness after a hard day at the potato factory, including the highest ever run chase for victory in a  world cup match and Pink haired middle order hellman Kevin O'Brien scoring the fastest ever World cup century. This shit is wild. I would love nothing more than if they proceeded to the next round at the expense of their colonial suppressors. Check the run chase.
